All insurances require at least five prerequisites including
consultation visit
one seminar
one support group
one nutrition evaluation
one psychological evaluation
Get started with the first three and we will assist you with scheduling the evaluations.
Dr. Chasen has a waiver with HMSA meaning that as long as these five steps are accomplished, the surgery is instantly approved.
Other insurances generally take about 1 to 2 weeks to be approved after these steps.
It is possible that some insurances, such as Alohacare and UHA, will ask that you follow up for three monthly supervised diet visits with Dr. Chasen before having surgery approved.
Once you finish your preparation for surgery, we will do all we can to accommodate you with scheduling your surgery in a timing that is best for you.
